This park owes its name from Tarangire River, which flows across the area. Herds of to 300 Elephant scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, Zebra,Buffalo, impala ,Gazelle hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons.
Tarangire is the best park to visit during the dry season .You will enjoys the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem .The best time to visit Tarangire for Wildlife viewing or walking is the dry season from June to October.
