Ernest Hemingway once referred to Lake Manyara as the most beautiful place in Africa. This subjective comment may or may not be true but once you have seen it you will agree that it is incredibly beautiful as too, are the many animals and birds that can be seen there.

This wedge of surprising varied vegetation supports a wealth of Wildlife nourished by the streams flowing out of the cliff. Acacia woodland shelters the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Lying languidly among the branches in the heat of the day.

Feeding undergrowth the in the dry riverbeds is the country’s densest population of buffalo, and Elephant. Deep in the south of the park there is hot spring.

Lake Manyara is one the most scenic parks, stretching for 50 km along the base of the rusty – gold 600 – meter high Rift valley escarpment. It is considered to be one among the best places for bird watching: more than 400 bird species have been recorded here, some of them being: bee – eater, heron, forest  – dwelling crowned eagle, water fowl, crowned crane, flamingoes, snipes and particles
